The Vikings spent the week preparing to face either quarterback Patrick Mahomes, last year’s NFL MVP, or backup Matt Moore. Moore started last Sunday’s 31-24 loss to Green Bay when Mahomes was out with a knee injury, and completed 24 of 36 passes for 267 yards and two touchdowns. Mahomes is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game.
Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins is in the midst of the hottest stretch of his eight-year pro career. In four October games, all wins, Cousins threw for 1,261 yards and 10 touchdowns. That earned him NFC Player of the Month honors.
The four teams the Vikings have beaten during their winning streak have a combined record of 10-20-1. Several players have said the Chiefs, who reached the AFC Championship Game last season, will provide a good measuring stick.
The Vikings will try to keep their ground game churning with Dalvin Cook, who leads the NFL in rushing with 823 yards.
The Chiefs have a solid running back, took in LeSean McCoy, who has rushed for 362 yards this season and has six career 1,000-yard seasons. How much they run or pass could be dictated on whether Mahomes or Moore is the quarterback.
