Joe Giudice of ‘RHONJ’ celebrates Christmas with daughters in Italy, still waiting on deportation appeal - NJ.com

Joe Giudice of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” is spending Christmas with his four daughters in Italy as he waits for the final word on his deportation.

Giudice, 47, could be seen greeting and embracing Gia, 18, Gabriella, 15, Milania, 14, and Audriana, 10, at the airport in a video he posted to his Instagram account.

He’s been living in Italy for several months and last saw his daughters in November, which was their first reunion since Giudice was released from the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to travel to his native country. In 2018, Giudice was ordered to be deported to the country upon his release from prison. He has been fighting that deportation order, and is currently awaiting the outcome of his third appeal.

In November, Joe’s wife, “RHONJ” star Teresa Giudice, accompanied her daughters on the visit to Joe in Sala Consilina in the southern Italian region of Campania, which was documented for Bravo. This time, Teresa, 47, stayed home following reports that she and Joe are currently separated. The family has a home in Towaco.

“#1 simple rule to get rid of heartbreak, finance troubles, depression, and all your troubles a hug from your children like I always say 'Fuhgeddaboudit!’" Joe posted on Instagram Christmas Eve.

“Hi girls, welcome to Italy again,” Giudice said in one video documenting the struggle to get everyone’s suitcase in the back of a car. “I love yous.”

On Instagram, Teresa could be seen celebrating on Christmas Eve with her father, Giacinto Gorga, her brother, Joe Gorga, and sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga, as well as her nephews and niece and an old flame from her teenage years, Anthony Delorenzo.

Delorenzo has been a topic of conversation on “RHONJ" and his relationship with Teresa has inspired speculation. Celebrity watchers were quick to seize on their recent embrace outside a local restaurant. In videos from the Gorgas’ Christmas celebration, Joe Gorga referred to Delorenzo as “the pool boy” (he is the owner of Woodside Pools in Wayne and installed the Giudices’ pool).

In Italy, Joe shared photos that showed him frying some calamari for Christmas Eve as family sang and toasted the holiday.

“You only live once we all got to get out of the frying pan some way right!” he said. “This was not that bad guys try it tasted amazing ask my girls!”

Gia Giudice, a Rutgers student, posted a picture with her father on Instagram.

“Spent Christmas Eve a little different this year,” she captioned the photo.

Milania Giudice shared videos on her Instagram stories of the calamari fry and a Christmas Day visit to St. Michael’s Church in Sala Consilina, in the province of Salerno.

Joe Giudice served a sentence of three years and five months in federal prison for fraud and was released in March, after which he was transferred to ICE custody. He was not permitted to return to his home in New Jersey.

After spending more than six months in ICE custody, Giudice decided to live as a free man and await his deportation decision in Italy.

On “RHONJ,” Gia explained that she asked her father to stay in the United States to fight his deportation. However, when Joe’s request for bond was denied, meaning he would have to stay in ICE custody in Pennsylvania if he wanted to remain the country, he made the decision to stay with family in Italy.

Since then, Joe has moved into new Italian digs in what he called a gated community and said he started a new job.

In 2014, Joe and Teresa Giudice pleaded guilty in federal court to bankruptcy, fraud and conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud. Teresa was released from prison in 2015 after almost a year.

Joe was born in Italy and moved to the U.S. with his family when he was a baby, but never became a citizen. Permanent residents who commit crimes of moral turpitude or aggravated felonies are subject to deportation.
