Lands' End will open a new store at Shops at Park Lane, possibly other D-FW locations - The Dallas Morning News

Lands’ End is looking at Texas for new store locations. The retailer has set its sights on the Shops at Park Lane in Dallas, and other locations may be in the works around Dallas-Fort Worth.

The brand, which was founded in 1963 as a sailboat equipment catalog, hasn’t confirmed its plans. Lands’ End has filed for a permit with the city of Dallas to open a 7,522-square-foot store in the Shops at Park Lane on North Central Expressway across from NorthPark Center.

The Shops at Park Lane said lease negotiations are still underway and a Lands’ End spokeswoman said she doesn’t have information to share yet.

The space is next to the Whole Foods Market entrance that faces Park Lane. Lands’ End said on its permit application that it would spend $350,000 remodeling.

Charming Charlie vacated the space earlier this year when the Houston-based fashion accessories retailer closed all of its 261 stores after filing for bankruptcy.

Lands’ End, based in Dodgeville, Wis., was spun off from Sears as a publicly traded company in 2014 and cut its final ties to Sears earlier this year by closing Lands’ End shops inside Sears stores. It has started opening more of its own locations after operating as a catalog and online retailer for decades.

Sears bought Lands’ End for $1.9 billion in 2002, and even after the spinoff the brand had shops inside more than 200 Sears stores. That ended earlier this year as Sears closed more stores as part of its bankruptcy.

Lands’ End opened a school uniform store in Plano on West Park Boulevard and in Austin in June 2018.

It accelerated its store openings last year and this year opened 15 stores in Delaware, Illinois, Michigan, Maryland, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
