... moreSTAMFORD — Apple has announced that it is closing its store at Stamford Town Center, as it prepares to open at the new SoNo Collection mall in Norwalk.
On the Stamford store’s website, Apple has posted a message reading “An inspired move: Come see us at SoNo Collection on February 15. Apple announced last month that it would be expanding its brick-and-mortar network to SoNo Collection.
Stamford Town Center Taubman Centers confirmed the closing, but company officials said that they did not have yet have a final day for the store. Apple had opened the Stamford location in April 2006.
An Apple exit would follow several other retailers that have closed their establishments at Stamford Town Center, in favor of new ones at SoNo Collection.
Fast-fashion retailer H&M and shoe seller Clarks, respectively closed their Stamford stores on Jan. 4 and Sunday.
Last year, Pandora jewelry and women’s clothing retailer Chico’s closed at the Stamford mall, while opening at SoNo Collection.
