CONCORD, N.H. (AP) A state agency that helps people with disabilities find and keep jobs has eliminated its waiting list for services about a year and a half after it was overhauled due to significant financial troubles.
The Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation was restructured in April 2018 to prioritize services for those with the most significant impairments after officials discovered that it had spent millions more than it took in for years.
Republican Gov. Chris Sununu said Tuesday that the waiting list was eliminated as of Jan. 1. The bureau has 27 counselors serving more than 3,000 clients.
