Towing companies: 50 people waiting at a time - Valley News Live

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live)-- Hours behind a shovel--it's not the way anyone wants to start the weekend.

Unfortunately, it's how a lot of us in the metro are.

It's keeping tow truck drivers like Brody Dahl busy. He's been clocked in for over 30 hours.

"I started work on Friday at 7 a.m. and I have been working nonstop," Dahl says. "I think I got an hour of rest."

Jump starts, accidents and pulling people out of banks. With six inches of snowfall and wind gusts of 50 mph, he and his team at MTW Towing have had their hands full.

"There are a lot of people stranded," Dahl says. "A lot of people getting stuck in their driveways and out on the streets."

He says they've had as many as 50 people waiting at one time. If you need help, he says, it could take several hours.

"I like to help people out as much as possible," he says. "That's why I wanted to be in the first response business."

This weekend's storm proves challenging. Even with a truck like Dahl's, there were several stuck cars that will need to wait for plows.

"Stay home as much as you can," Dahl says. "You would be a lot safer at home then out on the streets driving around."

If you have to venture out and need help, to give a professional like him a call. It's not worth risking anyone's safety.
